Previously serving as Director of Legal at a private corporation, James Virga has experience as a strategic legal and operational advisor, providing comprehensive guidance to ensure both regulatory and contractual compliance while supporting key functions. His legal knowledge is further complemented by his own personal experiences in construction and project management. Having worked in construction and commercial maintenance, he understands the nuances of each project from conception to go-to-market.
With his strong background in municipal, land use, and environmental law, James has also assisted municipalities and local legislators in drafting local and state laws and providing developers, landlords, and individuals guidance in complying with them. In addition to serving private clients, James served as Special Counsel to legislators in the City of Yonkers and as Deputy Prosecutor in the City of Rye.
James uses his experience to help guide his clients through a range of legal matters, including day-to-day operations, general contract provisions and negotiations, corporate governance, and litigation.
James holds a JD from Pace University, with a concentration in Land Use & Real Estate Law and a certificate in Environmental Law. While at Pace, he earned magna cum laude honors, served as the Articles Editor for Pace’s Environmental Law Review, and conducted research at the university’s Land Use Law Center.
