Counsel

Focusing on municipal and land use law, Kevin Schultz offers clients keen insight into the inner workings of government, the mindset of the people who lead public entities, and the decision-making process of municipal officials.

Kevin assists the City of Rye Corporation Counsel in all matters of municipal law and policy, serves as a prosecutor for the City of Rye, reviews land use projects for SEQRA compliance, negotiates settlements, deposes witnesses, performs pre-litigation fact-finding, and was appointed as a judicial referee by the County of Westchester Supreme Court.

Before joining MarksDiPalermo, Kevin served for nearly fifteen years with the New York City Department of Buildings as Director, Deputy Director, and counsel in various units within the agency, providing legal advice to Commissioners, public board members, and other leadership.

For three years at New York Law School, Kevin wrote for The Center for New York City Law’s administrative, land use, and regulatory publications CityLaw, CityLand, and CityRegs. Upon graduation, Kevin served as interim editor of CityLand and earned the Center’s post-graduate fellowship.
